Scholarship Exams

Maharashtra conducts several scholarship exams to support academically bright and deserving students. The main exams include the Pre-Secondary Scholarship (PSS) for 5th standard and Secondary Scholarship (SSC) for 8th standard students. These exams are organized by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune. Other popular exams include NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) and NTSE (National Talent Search Exam).

NMMS Exam

The NMMS exam is conducted for Class 8 students to provide financial support for their secondary education.
It is organized by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune. The exam includes a Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Students from economically weaker sections with an annual income below ₹3.5 lakhs are eligible. Winners receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per year from Class 9 to 12. The exam promotes academic excellence and helps reduce school dropouts. It is a great opportunity for students to continue their education confidently.

NMMS Exam

The NMMS exam is conducted for Class 8 students to provide financial support for their secondary education.
It is organized by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune. The exam includes a Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). NTS Exam

The NTSE is a prestigious national-level scholarship exam conducted to identify and nurture talented students in Class 10. It is organized by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The exam is held in two stages: Stage 1 at the state level and Stage 2 at the national level. It tests students through the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Selected students receive a scholarship up to the doctoral level, based on their academic progress. NTSE aims to encourage critical thinking, reasoning, and subject knowledge. It is one of the most prestigious exams for school students in India.
